I don't know if that would even be practical, but I assume the cars that are encumbered in this way are probably not popular enough to justify trying to do that anyway. The only alternative to all of that would be for TunerPro RT to have a way to filter packets based on specified values at specified offsets in acquired data. So if I pull BCM and friends, I'll only be making my Seville more Fiero-like than it already is. That's ironic, since the styling on this gen Seville is directly derived from the Fiero. This motor seems to have a following in the Fiero community for swaps.

But I see no real downside, since I'd just as soon yank the computer-controlled struts, A/C, ABS, etc., etc., and the factory instrument panel only shows speed, miles and fuel anyway. Doing that requires first constructing a homebrew instrument panel, because in this car the BCM feeds the instrument panel over the same ALDL data line. So no, that won't work, lol.Īt this point, I think if I want to use TunerPro RT to datalog this thing - and I do, it's shown me items of interest already once I fish packets out of the flood - I'm going to have to remove BCM and friends, leaving only the PCM to talk to. With that I still get a flood of seemingly random incorrect packets, but get no correct packets at all. Seemed reasonable, since the DS file mentions that there is "no master on the DeVille bus," or some such. Leaving no stone unturned, I just tried "DeVille mode," that is, sending 0x01 instead of 0x00 in the Mode 1 command. I was expecting to find a record of the continuous stream(s) of acquired data that I watched in the data list window, as described in 2. It contains one (1) packet of data, which has a seemingly random number instead of the correct PROM ID and other seemingly random data. I stopped the acquisition, shut down, and came inside to look at the datalog file. I supplied a name and a file was created.

After a few moments I selected Stop in the dropdown menu, and a popup requested an XDL file to save the datalog to. The data list window continued to show the stream(s) as described in 2. I selected Record in the dropdown menu, and the Connected box indicated that a recording was being made. There was no change in the behavior described in 2.Ĥ. I tried clicking the Send button both before and during stream acquisition. Using the 1992-1993 3800 ADX file as a guide, I added in commands and a macro to send 'Mode 8 (Disable Comms).' The macro appears in the dialog box. This pattern repeats rapidly and continuously.ģ. Once in a while the correct PROM ID briefly flashes by, to be quickly replaced by a variety of other numbers. However, either the stream is out of phase, or more than one stream is being acquired. ECM into Set Timing Mode by jumping the A&B terminals on the ALDL connector. TunerPro RT able to connect and acquire a data stream. Cadillac Fleetwood / Brougham: RWD Headlight Fillers 1990 1991 1992 CA9H. Have not tried the ADS file found on this site.Ģ. Using the ADX file for 4.9L Cadillac from Red Devil River ALDL-USB adapter package CD, which is stated to be from work done years ago by Victor Seitz (LittleNo) of Munich, who was last seen on in 2014. If anyone here can give me a hand in figuring this thing out, please let me know.1. it has been over a week, and i have yet to get a response.
#91 CADILLAC ALDL SOFTWARE#
I have also been to the fiero sites, and there is a link for ecm editing software for the fieros and other gm cars, in which i have e-mailed the provider of that software, as there is a claim that other ecm software can be obtained through this person. perhaps someone can push me to the right place. i have been linked to this site once before, and recall that there has been discussion about this software and such to do this, but i cannot locate any of that through the search feature. i know where to get the eprom erasers and other hardware, but cannot locate any of the software for the 91 caddy. the only thing that may elude me is some editing software for my year ecm. i am also a member of and i have plenty of information that i have given to make the good old 4.9 liter run respectible.Īs far as performance goes, i have done eveything outside of the engine, and now i must go inside the engine to complete the project for the long term, in which i am more than qualified to do so.
